With nearly 20 years of experience in the literary industry, Lison Lescarbeau is a seasoned professional with a reputation for diligence and risk-taking. She founded Éditions Château d’encre, a publishing house that specializes in essays and novels, in 2017. Then, having made a name for herself in the publishing world, she decided to tackle a new project and acquire Éditions au Carré.

As the sole owner of both houses, she was looking for an elegant and impactful way to bring them under one roof. That is why she approached our agency.

Holistic support

Lison Lescarbeau tasked our team with creating a new brand identity and marketing tools for her newly merged publishing house.

This project required us to leverage our expertise in several areas: strategy, web development, art direction, graphic design, and translation.

Creative freedom from A to Z

The first phase of our mandate was focused on developing the brand identity. Keeping the ethos of both publishing houses in mind, we defined a tone, a personality, and a promise that were unique to the main brand, Lison Lescarbeau Éditrice. Next, we created a brand guide and a logo, followed by a new, more user-friendly website. Because the website’s primary objective is to boost sales, we added a powerful online store and improved the way that information is presented.

Deliverables

  • Brand identity strategy including a name recommendation
  • Brand guide including a logo
  • Social media content strategy and overall social media approach
  • Functional wireframes
  • Website and online store
  • Video production for social media

A strong brand promise

Lison Lescarbeau Éditrice always hand-picks its titles to ensure quality and alignment with its mission: to publish authors who spark curiosity and words that transform ideas. Now that’s something that Espresso can get behind!

Testimonial

“Working with the team at Espresso communication helped me gain the perspective I needed to combine my two publishing houses under a single, coherent brand. The new image and well-crafted online store that emerged from our collaboration will boost the visibility of our offer and expand our authors’ readership in the Quebec and European markets. Espresso’s guidance and advice enabled me to accomplish my goals.”
