French-to-English translator/reviser (freelance)

Espresso communication is looking for an experienced freelance French-to-English translator/reviser with knowledge of the marketing, financial, legal, automotive, and medical sectors.

The incumbent will work on a broad range of material, including marketing copy, web articles, contracts, blog posts, and medical fact sheets.

The successful candidate will have an impeccable command of the English language, excellent computer skills, a strong sense of priority, and an aptitude for terminological research.

This position involves the following the tasks and responsibilities:

• Translating diverse material from French to English, including marketing, financial, legal, automotive, and medical texts

• Revising texts written in English and performing comparative revisions

• Carrying out the research required for the tasks above while respecting the client’s terminology preferences

• Using work tools effectively (memoQ, Google Workspace, FlowFit)

Requirements

• University degree in translation or a related field

• At least two years of relevant experience

• Perfect command of English and excellent understanding of French

• Outstanding writing skills

• Attention to detail, diligence, and curiosity

• Openness to feedback

• Proficiency with computers and ability to work independently

• Knowledge of memoQ or another computer-assisted translation tool
